Bleckley Memorial Hospital has achieved national accreditation from DNV Healthcare, the only hospital accreditation program approved by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that integrates the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation. DNV's accreditation program requires hospitals to evaluate the continuum of patient care throughout its facilities and take measured steps to improve when it is warranted.
DNV GL Healthcare (Det Norske Veritas), a CMS Deeming Authority, integrates the CMS‘s (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) Conditions of Participation for hospitals with the ISO 9001 Quality Management Program. DNV visits accredited organizations annually and requires compliance with two sets of standards, ISO 9001 and NIAHO (National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organization).
The Joint Commission (TJC) accredits and certifies healthcare organizations Laboratory Services nationwide every two years. TJC also has CMS Deeming Authority with separate Laboratory Services’ standards. This designation is evidence that Bleckley Memorial Hospital has voluntarily asked to be surveyed and held to standards that deal with organization quality, patient safety, and the safety of the environment. Bleckley Memorial Hospital is very proud to have achieved these National Standards.

For many years, due to demographic, economic, and health care industry challenges, Georgia’s rural hospitals have been facing a financial crisis. This crisis jeopardizes the access of rural Georgians to adequate health care.
In response, in 2016, the Georgia General Assembly passed, and Governor Nathan Deal signed into law, Senate Bill (“SB”) 258, legislation that, effective January 1, 2017, awards Georgia income tax credits to individual and corporate taxpayers who contribute to qualified rural hospital organizations (“RHOs”) located in Georgia.
As of January 1, 2018, 58 rural hospitals are eligible to participate in the RHO expense tax credit program. Of those hospitals, 56 are participating in the Georgia HEART Hospital Program to assist them with the marketing and administration of the RHO expense tax credit program. Together, these hospitals and Georgia HEART are Helping to Enhance Access to Rural Treatment.
Bleckley Memorial Hospital is a participating hospital with the Georgia HEART Program - AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!
