Billing and insurance can be confusing!
To make using our facility and services as convenient as possible, Bleckley Memorial Hospital participates in most insurance and managed care plans offered in the Middle Georgia area.
As a courtesy to our patients, Bleckley Memorial Hospital submits bills to your insurance company and will do everything possible to have your claim processed. However, it may become necessary for you to contact your insurance company or supply additional information to them for claims processing requirements or to expedite payment. You should remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, and you have the final responsibility for payment of your hospital bill.
When you check in for your visit, we want to aid in your understanding of how your insurance company will process your claim and your resulting financial obligation. Patient Financial Services will attempt to estimate hospital charges and deductibles / copayments based on your insurance company. Patients may be asked to make a payment toward the total amount you owe for scheduled services. Please be mindful, this is an estimate and may be different once final claims are submitted and paid.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, checks and cash. If you are unable to make a payment in full, there are other financial options that you may qualify for, such as payment plans.
If you are not covered by insurance, then you may be asked to make a deposit before receiving non-emergent services at the hospital. A deposit will not be requested prior to emergency screening and stabilizing treatment as required by federal law.
If you are uninsured and think you may have trouble making payments for services you received, Bleckley Memorial Hospital offers financial assistance for medically necessary health care services for persons who meet Bleckley Memorial Hospital’s Financial Assistance Program qualification guidelines. Each request for financial assistance will be reviewed independently and allowances may be made for extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis. To learn more about Bleckley Memorial Hospital’s Financial Assistance Program, you can download the Hospital’s Financial Assistance Program Policy and Financial Assistance Application or you may contact our Financial Counseling office to request that a copy of these documents be mailed to you.
In the event that a patient has not made a payment on his or her account for a period of 120 days or greater after the first billing cycle, Bleckley Memorial Hospital may pursue collection actions.
